Dr. Ashish Srinivasan is a clinical and academic Gastroenterologist with a subspeciality interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He combines public appointments at Austin Health and Eastern Health, with private practice at Melbourne Bowel Ultrasound and Gastrointestinal Specialists.
Dr Srinivasan established and now leads the bowel ultrasound (also called intestinal ultrasound or IUS) service at Austin Health. He also serves on the executive committee of Australia’s peak IUS body – GENIUS, and is a member of the International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS).
Dr Srinivasan has a particular interest in bowel disorders, including the application of bowel ultrasound in IBD and other gastrointestinal disorders. He has completed overseas fellowships in IBD (Oxford, UK) and bowel ultrasound (Erlangen, Germany), prior to completing a Ph.D. focused on optimising biologic therapies in IBD. Dr Srinivasan’s strong interest in clinical research has been recognised by invitations to present his research at national and international conferences.
Dr Srinivasan also remains active in clinical teaching and research through his appointment as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne.
Dr Danny Con is a gastroenterologist at Austin Health with subspecialty expertise in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He has undertaken additional training in intestinal ultrasound (IUS) through the Gastroenterology Network of Intestinal Ultrasound (GENIUS) and International Bowel UltraSound (IBUS) group. Danny also remains active in medical teaching and clinical research through his affiliation as a Clinical Lecturer at The University of Melbourne. He has co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and is completing a PhD on precision medicine and personalised care in IBD through The University of Melbourne.
